The History of Blended Tea

We all know that tea is usually easily recognizable in the form of tea bags. What we fail to note is that the contents of each tea bag offer a different story. The origin from which they originally came from offers a more educational one and if we track back and research their real origin, we would be surprised at how the whole manufacturing mix may prove to be both educational and appealing.

Tea is nearly 5,000 years old and many of us do not even know how it came about. If you think of it, it was really an accidental discover in China when then unknown tea leaves found its place in boiling water. The result was of course a different form of clear water which turned brownish. Thankfully, the Chinese emperor was a scientist and tried out the concoction. The result was the birth of a new drink called tea which has become a traditional drink ever since.

Tea made its way outside Asia though. It reached as far as colonies of Europe today. Many of us hear them today. It has been identified as a good alternative to the usual coffee we all consume. Hence, now the preference for most people is either coffee or tea, familiar drinks offered to us wherever we go today.

Asked up front, we would immediately associate them as coming from Asian countries such as China and Japan. But other than that, the harvesting process of tea offers a lot more information than that. For one, how they are picked, processed and classified offers a more in depth process. In fact, many of us would be surprised that tea is not really the final product until it is blended into the ideal composition that caters towards what we hear today based on the three meals we often hear: morning and afternoon tea.

Now you would ask, does tea really have to be classified accordingly. The answer here is yes since for the blended tea drinkers, focus on the content and the difference that all tea classes have is important. Why? Well for one, there is more to tea than a simple sip. Tea offers health attributes to the body and this is a fact that the whole world knows. In fact, while people are too caught up finding ways to keep their internal anatomies free from toxins, most fail to realize that tea offers a better way of cleansing their bodies and provide miracles as far as tea consumption is concerned.

So how did it evolve into something that we hear today as blended tea? Well we all have our own preferences and tea is no different. There is a specific taste and mix to which most people look for. We hear about black tea, Oolong tea and of course the ever famous green tea. All of them have specific brews and compositions. It all really boils down to the person and how he or she has been briefed educated and versed on blended tea today.

Lighting Strategies to Reduce Retail Costs

Lighting a retail store can really boost up your electric bill. Therefore, it becomes really important to make the right choices. Lighting alone will make up about half of your electric bill each month. Any money you can save will add up over time and help keep the cost of running your store down.
The most cost effective type of lighting is fluorescent lighting. It is cheap to install and to maintain. If fluorescents do not really go with your idea of how your store should feel, then use these other options to reduce your lighting bill.
When designing your store, use as much natural light as possible. Sheer curtains, sky lights, glass doors and skylights not only give your store a nice natural light feel, but it can also greatly reduce the number of lights that are needed in your store. Small LED or halogen lights can put out a lot of light for a small amount of energy.
The next tip in store design to maximize lighting is to utilize a lot of reflective surfaces. Strategically placed mirrors can double the amount of light needed in a retail store. Your dressing room doors, counter tops and decorations can all be made of reflective materials. Sometimes all you need is a small lamp to illuminate a closed off area.
Clean your lights regularly. Dust collecting on your light bulbs can dim their output by almost half after only a couple of years. Make it a quarterly job to clean light bulbs and the shades surrounding them.
Use spotlights. Spotlighting certain areas can help a small amount of natural light go a long way. Additionally, spotlights help deter shoplifters from stealing from your store. Strategically place them over the registers, by the exits and in your fitting rooms. You will not only save on electricity, but on product loss as well. Make sure that you illuminate dark corners or behind walls that are not easily visible from the register. This is extremely important in larger retail stores as well.
Sometimes it is not important to light a large area. Areas where employees fold clothes or do paperwork can be lit with only a small lamp. The lamp can be turned off when not in use and save electricity.
Dimmer switches can help save energy as well. During the brightest parts of the day, the lights can be dimmed, using up to half as much energy as they would normally use. Only turn them up at night. Spotlight your mannequins to accentuate your promotions while leaving other lights dimmed. Little cuts here and there on lighting can save you a bundle during the lifetime of your business. Invest in quality store fixtures that are sure to last you a long time.

Slatwall Displays in Retail Stores

Slatwall is a wonderful choice if you need to maximize space in your retail store or boutique. Slatwall gives you endless options for arranging shelves, hanging bars and hooks to display a wide array of merchandise. Slatwall is sold in panels and can be made to fit just about any area that you may have.
Slatwall saves room by bringing many of your floor display items up on to the wall. This also helps to promote your items. Instead of having them crammed into small circular racks, you can have them facing out into the store where they can be seen from across the room or from outside of your store. This can greatly increase your sales and make more of your items visible to your customers. They will consider things that they may not have even seen before.
Promotions and sales can be made much easier by utilizing your slatwall. Put items that are not selling well under your spotlights or near the front of your store. If you are having a shoe sale, simply transfer your shoe wall to the front of the store. Moving displays around is easy with slatwall. You can move bars and hanging racks close to each other for small items, or far apart for bigger items, or long items such as pants and jeans.
Slatwall is also a beautiful accent for your store. It comes in a variety of wood grain colors and shades. Metal or vinyl inserts can accent the other displays in your store. Slatwall can hold up a lot of weight, but if you want to increase the load, you can use aluminum inserts and increase the weight capacity by about fifty percent.
When you buy your slatwall, consider what slatwall accessories you might need. Try to anticipate what you will need for upcoming seasons as well. Hanging bars are usually available in a chrome or brushed metal finish. You can match your shelving and hooks with the bars if you would like. You may also consider acrylic shelving for smaller items. With the right lighting, acrylic shelving looks very nice and can accentuate the products that you place on them. The clear shelf will not take any attention away from the product.
Make the most of a small space and choose slatwall for your retail store displays. Enjoy the versatility of moving shelving and hanging bars around as much as you need. Use it to help with your promotions and sales. Beautify your store with your slatwall choices.
